About Minneapolis Made: building for the web since before Google existed.
My name is Christopher Merry, and I'm the founder of Minneapolis Made. I started building websites in the late '90s when "internet marketing" wasn't even a phrase yet. Over 25 years later, I'm still doing it — not because I have to, but because I genuinely love solving the puzzle of making businesses visible online.
I've worked with everyone from solo entrepreneurs launching their first site to established companies trying to figure out why their competitors keep outranking them. The common thread? Every client gets my direct number, my honest assessment, and my hands on the keyboard. No account managers. No junior staff doing the work while you pay senior rates.
Minneapolis Made isn't an agency in the traditional sense. It's one person with deep expertise across the full stack — WordPress development, technical SEO, content strategy, paid advertising, and visual design. When you call, I answer. When something breaks at 11pm, I fix it. That's not a marketing line; it's been my operating model for over two decades.
What I Actually Do
I build WordPress websites that are engineered for search visibility from the first line of code. I run SEO campaigns grounded in data, not guesswork. I manage hosting environments so my clients never think about uptime, security patches, or page speed. And I create marketing systems — email, PPC, social — that turn traffic into revenue.
My approach has always been the same: understand the business first, then build the technology around it. I don't sell packages. I build solutions specific to what each client needs, using whatever tools make the most sense for their situation.
Why Minneapolis
I was born and raised in Minnesota. Minneapolis is where I built my career, where I raised my family, and where I plan to keep building. The Twin Cities has one of the most dynamic small business communities in the country, and I'm proud to be part of it. Most of my clients are within a 30-minute drive, but I work with businesses across the country.
